Outsourced Software Development for UK Businesses Custom software with a working-day overlap and fixed prices
Localhost Labs is a software studio in Multan, Pakistan, building custom web applications, internal tools, SaaS products and automation for businesses in the UK and elsewhere.
Pakistan and the UK share a good part of the working day, English is our working language, and we bill in GBP, which makes us a practical outsourcing option for UK SMEs, startups and agencies.
Common reasons UK businesses outsource development
- Operations still depend on spreadsheets, email and manual re-keying
- An off-the-shelf system has stopped fitting the way the business works
- A product idea needs a first version before investing in a team
- An existing app or portal was left unfinished by a previous supplier
- An agency has more client demand for software than it can staff
Working hours and communication
Pakistan is UTC+5 all year. That puts us five hours ahead of the UK in winter and four hours ahead during British Summer Time, so a UK morning overlaps with our afternoon. In practice that means same-day answers, calls in your morning, and progress continuing after you've finished for the day.
Outsourcing options compared
| UK agency | UK contractor | Offshore studio (us) | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Pricing model | Day rates or fixed project | Day rate | Fixed price per milestone, no hourly billing |
| Team | Full team | One person | Full team with one technical lead |
| Overlap | Same hours | Same hours | Several shared hours each day |
| Best for | On-site workshops, regulated work | Short, specialist tasks | Defined builds, automation, ongoing support |
Data protection
If your software processes personal data, UK GDPR applies. We'll sign a data processing agreement, keep production data in the region and provider you choose, and design access so our team only sees what it needs. We're not a law firm, so your own adviser should confirm the details for your situation.
What we build for UK clients
- Customer portals and booking systems
- CRM, quoting and job-management systems
- Integrations with Xero, QuickBooks, HubSpot, Stripe and other tools
- Automation of reporting, invoicing and data entry
- SaaS products and MVPs
- Maintenance and support plans for existing software
Cost
Most first projects are a typical initial project of USD 3k–15k+, fixed-priced after a paid discovery phase. Larger systems are delivered in fixed-price milestones. We don't bill by the hour.
We can invoice in GBP, USD or EUR, agreed in the contract.
Choosing an outsourcing partner: a short checklist
- Clear ownership: code, accounts and IP assigned to your business
- A written scope and fixed price per milestone
- A named technical lead you can reach directly
- Demos of working software, not just status reports
- A defined support arrangement after launch, with response times
- Willingness to sign an NDA and, where needed, a DPA
Your first 30 days
- Week 1: introductory call during your morning, NDA, and paid discovery
- Week 2: written scope, milestones and fixed price for your sign-off
- Weeks 3–4: first milestone delivered to a staging environment you can test
- Throughout: updates in Slack or Teams and a regular call slot
Taking over an existing system
If a previous supplier has gone quiet or left a project half-finished, we start with a code and infrastructure review, then give you a written assessment: what's healthy, what's risky, and a fixed-price plan to stabilise it. You decide whether to continue with us before any further work.
